The museum aims to introduce design and its makers, to enhance discussion between experts and general public, hence contributing into further development of the field. Previous lecturers of the event have included experts of graphic design, glass, architecture, ceramics and more.

The Museum of Decorative Art and Design in Riga has been open since 1989 & has seven collections: textile art, ceramics, metal, leather, decorative wood and glaas art as well as a design collection. When organising exhibitions and educational programmes, the museum collaborates with working artists, designers and partner institutions in Latvia and abroad. It strives to reflect the current processes in decorative applied art, fashion and design.
